Celebrating Decades of Dedication: Farewell to Two Pillars of KMC.
Today, the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) bid an emotional farewell to two of its long-serving and dedicated staff members, Dembo S.N. Sanneh and Kawsu Jawneh, as they retired after years of exceptional service to the municipality.
Dembo S.N. Sanneh, fondly known as Commander by his colleagues, served in various capacities, including Municipal Police Commissioner, Acting Director of Administration, and Director of Compliance, leaving an indelible mark on the council’s operations.
Kawsu Jawneh, a stalwart in the Accounts Unit, rose through the ranks to become the Finance Manager, showcasing unwavering commitment and expertise in managing the municipality’s finances.
At a heartfelt farewell ceremony held at the KMC Chambers, colleagues and staff members shared touching stories of the retirees’ dedication, leadership, and contributions to local governance. Both Mr. Sanneh and Mr. Jawneh expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve and contribute to the development of the municipality.
The Lord Mayor, Talib Ahmed Bensouda, praised the retirees for their immense contributions, describing them as pillars of KMC’s progress. He acknowledged their hard work and commitment, which have significantly shaped the council’s success.
As a token of appreciation, the retirees were presented with souvenirs, symbolizing the council’s gratitude for their years of service. The ceremony was chaired by the Director of Administration, Mr. Ebrima Sawaneh, who also commended the retirees for their exemplary careers.
