The Compliance Department is one of three departments directly under the Mayor’s purview. The department is responsible for the day to day inspection of all Council departmental activities and this includes the revenue and non-revenue generating areas of Council. The Department was created with the view to support and add value to the growth in revenue and ensure that Council’s operational policies and mandates are fully discharged.
Amongst the functions of the department are as follows:-
- Ensure that Council Staff are in compliance with all Laws, Regulations/Polices and By-Laws of the Council at all times.
- Ensure that Council Staff maintain standards.
- Ensure that all forms of suppression of Revenue or leakages are reported or deterred.
- Receive record and investigate complaints from the public or staff.
- Notifying property owners of any form of violation or non-compliance.
Ensure that all public infrastructures or facilities within the municipality are in good form and report appropriately about their conditions.
