Fatoumatta Jallow Memorial Scholarship Awarded.
The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC), in partnership with the Madison–Kanifing Sister City Committee, yesterday held a ceremony at the KMC grounds to award the Fatoumatta Jallow Memorial Scholarship for Women in Nursing.
We are delighted to announce that this year’s scholarship was awarded to Ms. Aisha Suwareh.
Present at the ceremony were the Deputy Mayor, who deputized for the Lord Mayor, the Chairman of the Education Committee Mr. Harouna Camara and his committee members, as well as the families of the late Fatoumatta Jallow and the awardee, Aisha Suwareh.
The Chairperson of the Madison-Kanifing Scholarship Committee, Ms. Zainabou Cole delivered her remarks via Zoom, encouraging the awardee to do her best and expressing hope that more scholarships will be provided in the coming years.
This scholarship stands as a lasting tribute to the legacy of Fatoumatta Jallow and a commitment to empowering women in the field of nursing.
