KMC Councilors in China for Smart City Training.
We are proud to announce that Councilor Baba Jabbi of Faji Kunda Ward, Chairman of the Planning & Development Committee of KMC, and Councilor Momodou Harouna Camara of Old Jeshwang Ward, Chairman of the Education Committee of KMC, are currently in Shenzhen City, Guangdong Province, China.
Their participation is courtesy of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Banjul, at the Seminar on Smart City Planning and Development for Developing Countries organized by the Shenzhen Association for Promoting International Economic & Technological Cooperation. The seminar Will commence from 4th to 17th September 2025.
The training program covers:
. China’s national development experience.
. Safe city planning & emergency systems.
-. Smart city case studies & digital innovation among other topics.
Participants will also engage in visits to high-tech companies and smart city hubs in Shenzhen and Hefei.
We extend our appreciation to the organizers and the Chinese Embassy in Banjul for facilitating this valuable knowledge-sharing opportunity that will contribute to the future of urban development in Kanifing and The Gambia.
