Kanifing Makes History at the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum in Vienna.

Today wrapped up an incredible chapter for Kanifing at the World Cities Summit Mayors Forum, hosted in Vienna, Austria where 50 mayors from across the globe gathered to shape the future of cities.

For the first time ever, Kanifing proudly took its place at this prestigious forum, represented by our Lord Mayor, Talib Ahmed Bensouda.

As one of only three African cities in attendance, Kanifing showcased how local innovation can drive real change on the global stage. Under the theme “Local Solutions with Global Impact,” Lord Mayor Bensouda presented Kanifing’s GIS (Geographic Information System), a cutting-edge tool designed to improve the efficiency and transparency of property rates management within the municipality.

This was more than just participation; it was a powerful opportunity to share Kanifing’s story, build partnerships, and learn from forward-thinking cities around the world.

We are proud of this milestone and even more excited for what lies ahead. Kanifing is committed to deeper engagement and continued innovation for the benefit of our residents and the global urban community.
