Yesterday was the official one-day HEAT summit held at Radisson blu hotel in Freetown. The occasion was graced by his excellency the vice president of Sierra Leone Dr Mohamed juldeh Jallow, the mayor of Freetown, mayors of West Africa, Ambassadors, diplomatic core and cross section of the Sierra Leonian community.
In his keynote address the vice president emphasizes the need for the total Autonomy of African local Authorities to allow councils to deliver as expected.
During the high-level round table with the mayors and donor agencies such as C40 cities, World bank and the American embassy, The CEO of KMC Pa Sait Ceesay highlighted some of the achievements registered by kmc for the prevention of heat by planting 190000 trees and the creation of parks, the mballit project, and the fencing of the dumpsite and the purchasing of the fleet vehicles for service delivery.
