Mayor of Freetown Pays Official Visit to Kanifing Municipal Council.

As part of the sister city cooperation pact between Freetown and Kanifing, Her Worship Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr of Freetown paid an official visit to the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) this morning. The visit underscored the strong partnership and shared vision between the two municipalities.

Mayor Aki-Sawyerr was accompanied by Councillor Zainab Conteh, her Personal Assistant Isatu Manja Kargbo, and Communications Officer, John Sise. Upon her arrival, she was warmly received with a Quarter Guard mounted by the KM Police.

The visit began with an introductory session with Councillors and KMC management staff, where Mayor Aki-Sawyerr was ceremonially presented with the Key to the Municipality by His Worship Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda.

Following the formalities, Mayor Aki-Sawyerr joined Council members for a special session organized in her honour at KMC Chambers, emphasizing the significance of this collaboration in fostering sustainable development and mutual learning.

The visit reflects the continued commitment of both cities to strengthen ties and promote cooperative initiatives under the sister city agreement.
