MINISTER OF LANDS, REGIONAL ADMINISTRATION AND RELIGOUS AFFAIRS Visits KMC Yesterday

Minister Bah was warmly received by Lord Mayor Talib Ahmed Bensouda during his visit to the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC). The Minister met with the Mayor, Councillors, Senior Management, and Alkalolou of the Municipality to discuss the development of a new Land Policy. He emphasized the importance of Alkalolou refraining from charging fees for land transactions and highlighted the ongoing investigations into land allocations, particularly in the Tanbi Wetlands. Mayor Bensouda highlighted the healthy working relationship among Councillors, regardless of their political affiliations, as he supported the Minister’s call to forge stronger working relationships between the Ministry and the Councils. Minister Bah also outlined plans to strengthen collaboration, announcing that stakeholders’ meetings would now be held every three months to foster better understanding and relations within the Regional Administration and the Ministry. Minister Bah also pledged his ministry’s support to ensure KMC host this year’s NAYCONF with resounding success. The visit concluded with a dynamic question-and-answer session, addressing numerous issues and concerns raised by attendees.
