Exciting Development in Environmental Protection in The Gambia

The “Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs) and Unintentional Persistent Organic Pollutants (UPOPs) Capacity Building” project is making strides in strengthening national capacities to manage and eliminate PCBs, address contaminated sites, and reduce UPOPs from open burning. This initiative aligns with The Gambia’s National Implementation Plan for the Stockholm Convention. Led by the National Environment Agency, in collaboration with MECCNAR, KMC (Kanifing Municipal Council), NAWEC (National Water and Electricity Company Limited), and NEA, the project aims to ensure an environmentally sound approach to these challenges. Today, we are thrilled to announce the handover of 700 waste bins and 5 motorcycles to enhance mobility and effective supervision!
