OFFICIALS OF THE MINISTRY OF TRANSPORT, WORKS AND INFRASTRUCTURE VISIT KMC
This morning, officials from the Ministry of Transport, Works, and Infrastructure, along with a delegation of Turkish experts in the field of Intelligent Transport System (ITS), visited the Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC). The delegation was received by the Deputy Mayor and CEO of KMC. The Turkish experts are affiliated with the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMCEC). COMCEC aims to enhance economic and commercial cooperation among the member states of the OIC, focusing on various sectors including transportation, trade, and finance. Leading the team of experts was Zeynep Öktem, CEO of NANObiz. NANObiz specializes in innovative technological solutions and has been instrumental in developing and implementing Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). These systems are designed to improve traffic management, reduce congestion, and enhance the overall efficiency of transportation networks. During their visit, the team discussed the potential introduction of ITS in The Gambia, exploring how these advanced systems could be tailored to meet the country’s specific transportation needs. The visit, aims to pave the way for future collaborations and technological advancements in The country’s transport sector. Others who attended the meeting included the Councillors Representing the Business and Transport sectors, MC Cham Junior and Momodou Suwareh and some senior Manegement Members.
