The daily fee charge is currently ten Dalasis (D 10) across the board. On the other hand, the charges for canteen rental and monthly kiosk fees vary depending on the market one is operating in. These fees range from D 500 per month for a temporal kiosk to D 3,000 per month for a well-built canteen.
Management Structure of the Market Unit
- Manager
- Assistant Manager
- Market Masters
- Daily fees collectors
The Markets Manager coordinates and supervises the staff on a day-to-day basis. The Markets Manager handles vendors complaints and provides them with relevant information pertaining to the operations of the markets. The Manager also works with the Environment and Sanitation Department to ensure cleanliness of the markets and with the Municipal Police Commissioner to provide security within the confines of the markets.
Market Infrastructure Expansion

The Council is working hard to upgrade and expand the satellite markets listed above to acceptable standards. The objective is to ensure that aspiring small scale entrepreneurs can have access to canteens with affordable rental fees to help them develop their businesses.
