Staff Members at the Mayor’s Office Attend Training in China

0

We are proud to share that three dedicated staff members from the Mayor’s Office are currently participating in the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Capacity Building Programme in Beijing (24 June – 7 July 2026), sponsored by MOFCOM and organised by IECC.

Ousman Gaye (Clerk of Council), Nuru Deen Adams (Protocol Officer), and Kebba Hydara (Personal Assistant) are being equipped with diplomatic communication channels to enhance USAR operations. This enables swift, clear cross-border coordination; fosters international cooperation by facilitating the exchange of global best practices and joint response frameworks; and leverages diplomacy to integrate communication and technology, ultimately improving real-time data sharing, effective communication, and on‑ground rescue efficiency

At the local government level, diplomacy is not just for ambassadors; it empowers our administrative and protocol teams to connect with international partners, access cutting‑edge tools, and bring home actionable strategies that save lives.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Banjul for facilitating this invaluable opportunity.
