KMC Staff Successfully Complete Urban Search and Rescue Training in China

The Kanifing Municipal Council (KMC) is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 14-day Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) Capacity Building Programme for African Countries, held in Beijing, People’s Republic of China, from 24 June to 7 July 2026. Sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China (MOFCOM) and organised by the International Exchange, Cooperation Centre (IECC), the programme concluded with a certificate award ceremony officiated by the Director General of the IECC.
Representing the Mayor’s Office, Ousman Gaye (Clerk of Council), Nuru Deen Adams (Protocol Officer), and Kebba Hydara (Personal Assistant) joined participants from across Africa in strengthening their knowledge and practical skills in urban search and rescue, disaster preparedness, emergency coordination using diplomatic communication, and international cooperation. The training equips the team with valuable skills that will contribute to enhancing KMC’s emergency preparedness and institutional capacity.
