Kanifing Municipal Council Today Officially Launched the Project “Leveraging Digital Addresses for Evidence-Based Policymaking in Kanifing.”

This important initiative worth €500,000 is supported by the Fund for Innovation in Development (FID), the French Development Agency (AFD), and the European Union Delegation to The Gambia. €350,000 is budgeted for implementation by KMC and €150,000 for researchers.

I extend sincere appreciation to Ms Amina Zakhnouf (FID), Ms Lorane Rebut (AFD), H.E. Dr Stéphane Dovert, Ambassador and Head of the French Diplomatic Mission in The Gambia, Ms Enrica Pellacani and Ms Laura Carpino from the EU Delegation, as well as our lead research and technical partners from Paris Dauphine University, Dr Victor Pouliquen and Ms Cebbina Lee.

This project builds on KMC’s ongoing transformation to modernize local governance through innovation, digital mapping, and evidence-based decision-making.

Together, we aim to strengthen municipal data systems, improve service delivery, expand digital addressing, and build a more efficient, transparent, and accountable municipality.

This is more than a technology project it is about improving the lives of our residents and shaping a smarter future for Kanifing.
