KANIFING-MADISON SISTER CITY LINK STUDENTS OF CEOs of TOMORROW VISIT KM

The Kanifing Municipal Council under the dynamic leadership of His worship, the lord Mayor, Talib Ahmed Bensouda is pleased to welcome the CEOs of Tomorrow student entrepreneurs who jet into The Gambia yesterday to share knowledge with students of the Kotu Senior Secondary School.

The Madison-area student entrepreneurs in grades 9-12 are embarking on a 15-day trip to The Gambia, from July 22 August 4, 2023. ‘These Teens Mean Business Global Excursions’ has each completed one or more of CEOs of Tomorrow’s other course offerings where they have learned to develop business skills in entrepreneurship, pitch their ideas and tested business ventures.

The excursion will be the first of its kind for the 10 teens who will learn about the entrepreneurial ecosystem in The Gambia, as well as share their knowledge with the students of Kotu Senior Secondary School.

The trip is sponsored by the Madison non-profit organization, CEOs of Tomorrow. The annual global program allows its students to work directly with teens in economically developing countries as they help to lead business seminars.

The American students are being led by. Dr. Roxie Hentz, CEO and founder of CEOs of Tomorrow. Dr. Hentz is creating this opportunity for students to share hands-on business skills and support the youth in The Gambia, something she described as ‘an extraordinary experience.

As a strong supporter of the program, the University of Wisconsin-Madison African Studies Program contributed toward the initiative by providing pre-departure Wolof language training for the participants.

Kanifing and Madison have over the years built, and sustained strong relations which is now trickling down to our young and future CEOs of tomorrow.

The students were this morning previledged to visit the QGroup of Companies and had some words of advice from the CEO, Mr. Muhammed Jah. The program proper begins tomorrow at the Child Protection Alliance (CPA) where the visiting team will meet students of Kotu Senior Secondary to begin a Business Incubator Seminar. During their stay, they will also visit selected start-up business within KM to learn about the business environment in The Gambia.
