Mayor Bensouda presents cheques to Pitching Contest winners. The Lord Mayor, who also serves as the Chairperson of the KETP Project Steering Committee, presented cheques to the winners of the Green Cycle Pitch Competition earlier today. The competition, organized by the Kanifing Environmental Transformation Programme and funded by the European Union, aims to promote a circular economy and create employment opportunities for the youth.

The importance of the Green Cycle economy cannot be overstated. It focuses on recycling, reusing, and reducing waste, leading to a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach to economic growth. By encouraging innovative solutions for waste management, it not only helps in conserving natural resources but also opens up new avenues for business and employment. The winners of the contest were Plastico, who received the top prize of D275,000; Outboost, the 1st runner-up received D250,000; and Quick Cook, the 2nd runner-up also received D250,000. In attendance at the presentation ceremony were CEO Pa Sait Ceesay, Youth Councillor Kemo Bojang, Business Councillor MC Cham, and other KETP project staff.
