Hon. Nenneh was awarded GLOBAL TOP 50 FEMALE HUMANITARIAN AWARD yesterday December 1st, 2023 at the International Women Power Conference & Awards (2023) held in Abuja, Northern Nigeria on the theme: ‘’ADVANCING THE COURSE FOR WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP’’.

Hon. Gomez was also one among two quest speakers at the event and she spoke on the topic, Changing the Narrative for Women Inclusion in leadership. In her statement, she:

1. It will take a huge political will by the leaders with strong commitment.

2. African women must shed off that mentality that women are poor and weak.

3. We must consider ourselves as equal players first and foremost.

Hon. Cllr. Nenneh in her acceptance statement expressed delight and appreciation for such prestigious awards. She went on to say, I may not know or have it all but what remains true which I know for a fact throughout my journey has been my love for people especially women and my passion for standing up for the vulnerable and voiceless emanating from our relative similarities, whether that be the advocacy on the issues of women, our fight for human rights, advocacy against FGM, SGBV and social justice etc.

I may not know when this journey will end but what I do know is I have something in my heart that keeps me going every single day.

Speaking to every other woman Hon. Nenneh said, these powerful awards, I hereby dedicate to every woman and young adolescent girl out there. I stand here again to say to you all wherever you may be, as one of you, you are strong, you are special, you are powerful, you are amazing, you are beautiful, you are worthy and you are enough as you are.

In her closing, she said, my country is small in size and population but people with great minds, however when everyone is fighting for a seat at the table, I crossed borders to create and build my own table and guess what, I will carry the table back home and invite others to come sit with me. Create something you can call your own she concluded.

The Event was graced by a high level cross section of personalities from different sectors all across the Globe.
