Mayor Bensouda signs the Condolences Book for HE Vice President Badara Joof
The sad demise of The Gambia’s Vice President Badara Alieu Joof was announced on Wednesday morning,with news of his passing confirmed on twitter in a tweet from the official twitter page of the President were it was announced that the Vice president had passed away in India where he was taking treatment after a brief illness .
The Mayor signs the condolence book today in an event held at the Statehouse, where the Mayor among other dignitaries signed the condolence book,the Mayor sends his sincere condolences to His Excellency President Adama Barrow for the passing of Vice President Badara Alieu Joof On behalf of the people of Kanifing Municipality, and in extension to the people of the Gambia.
The late Vice president previously served as Minister of Higher Education , Research , Science and Technology(MOHERST) from 2017- 2022 before being appointed as the Vice President.
The Mayor describes the late Vice President in a FB post made yesterday,
” as an uncle, a mentor and the most honest of leaders.
A straight shooter who was not afraid to tell the truth no matter the personal cost to him”.
